Potter goes wire to wire in the Winter series championship
-
When you make birdie or better in a third of the holes you play in a tournament, chances are you will be in the hunt for a win. That’s what Ted Potter(-17) and Russell Knox(-15) did this week as both of them made 16 birdies and 2 eagles in the 36 hole championship at Rio Pinar. Potter capped off a near perfect week with a 7-under 65 giving him a 2 shot victory over Russell Knox who carded a 6-under 66 today. Two New England players also had success this week as Jesse Smith and Jon Curran finished tied for 6th with four other players at -8. Included in the six players at 8-under were Ryan Gildersleeve and Travis Hampshire who were trying to improve their top ten status in the standings. Although Michael Thompson finished out of the top twenty (tied for 22nd), it was good enough to take the top spot away from Joe Affrunti. View the final scoreboard here.
