This week Massachusetts has four golfers competing in the Winter Hooters Pro Tour event at Diamondback GC in Haines City,Fl . After last weeks tough showing, team New England is looking to redeem themselves as Jon Curran was the only local player to cash at Forrest Lakes GC. Today’s round was suspended for darkness with 20 of the 128 golfers left on the 6900 yard course.

Round One will resume at 7:45 Wednesday morning. BALL IN THE AIR AT 7:45. Round Two will begin at 8:00 Wednesday morning. Players beginning Round Two Wednesday morning need to add FIFTEEN minutes to their original tee times for Round Two. The afternoon wave of Round Two is currently scheduled to tee off on time at 12:00.

Today Curran had an uneventful round making one birdie and one bogey for an even par 72. Brockton’s Matt Parziale had a great showing today as he sits tied for 8th and just 3 shots off the lead. Matt made birdie on the 8th hole but quickly gave it back as he had a double bogey 6 on the ninth hole. Parziale’s back side was a much different story as he made and eagle 2 on the par 4 11th hole, a bogey on 12 and then peeled off four straight birdies to card a 5-under back nine and a 68(-4) for the day. Michael Welch’s four birdies and a bogey puts himself 4 shots of the lead. Jim Renner was even par before making bogey on three of the last four holes. Renner finished carded a 3-over , 75 today and has a little bit of work to tomorrow.

Paul Maddy of Cambridge, England is the leader in the clubhouse after carding a 7-under, 65 today. Nipping as Maddy’s heals are Ryan Gildersleeve, Russell Knox,Yohann Benson, Patrick Nagle, Ryan Henry, and Trent Leon who are all sitting at -6. See all today’s scorecards here.
