The Hooters Pro Tour stops in Orlando, Fl this week at Stoneybrook East GC. The field consists of 131 players and as usual there will be a cut to the top 40 scores plus ties after tomorrow’s round. Favorable scoring conditions would be the story for day one as 11 players are -5 or better today and the top 50 are -2.
Kevin Hall of Cincinnati, OH shoots a five under, 31 on the front 9 before making birdie on 10 and an eagle 3 on the par 5 11th hole as he was 8 under after that 11th hole. Kevin made birdie on 16 and a bogey on 18 to finish for a 64 (-8) and he is your leader after the first day from StoneyBrook East.
Matt Parziale who missed his first pro cut last week, started out par-birdie before making 3 straight bogeys. Matt went on to birdie 7 before making another bogey on 8 giving making him 2 over at the turn. Parziale then bounces back making 4 birdies on the backside for a 4 under, 32 and finishing the day with a 70(-2).
Michael Welch of Quincy, Ma broke into the top ten on the money list continues to play strong shooting a 68 (-4) as he made 6 birdies and 2 bogeys. Garrett Jones has a chance to take over the money list lead with Affruntti out of the field shoots a 3 under 69 today, making 5 birdies and 2 bogeys.
Several notable players will be missing this weeks event due to the Q-School’s second round of qualifying which starts tomorrow. Players include Joe Affrunti who took last week off and will miss this week since he will be at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga. Affrunti remains on top of the money list. Last weeks winner, Luke List climbed into the 5 spot in money will be qualifying at TPC Craig in Mckinney, TX, 4th on the money list, Yohann Benson will be at Southern Hills along with Jim Renner of Plainville, MA, Keegan Bradley(5th on the money list) and Geoffrey Sisk of Marshfield,Ma
