Duetsche Bank Redux...

I had the opportunity to take in much of the play at the annual Duetsche Bank over in lovely Norton MA this weekend. When you get the opportunity to watch real players play, it can be pretty special, and for me, and my 13 year son, it certainly was. Renner notches 2nd title

This weeks Hooters Pro Tour Event at Sunset Hills CC in Edwardsville, IL and Plainville’s, Jim Renner was the only player from New England to take the trip. Constant rains and lengthy delays shortened The Sunset Hills NGA Classic to 54 holes. Welch gains exemption on the Nationwide Tour

Quincy’s Michael Welch was awarded an exemption into this weeks Nationwide Tour event, The Fresh Express Classic at TPC Stonebrae in Hayward, CA. Welch earned his ticket to Cali and a chance to play compete against fellow Massachusetts native, Rob Oppenheim (who gained a full exemption last fall at Q-School) by being the leading money leader after the first four events on the NGA Hooters Pro Tour. Welch swings by Knox to capture victory

This weeks NGA Hooters Pro Golf Tour stoppedĀ  in Fernandina Beach, FL at the Amelia National Golf & Country Club. After a few weather delays and suspended play due to darkness, Quincy’s Michael Welch is $30,000 richer as he took the victory over the 168 player field this week. Welch earns top ten finish, kicking off the new season

The 2010 summer NGA Hooters Pro Tour kicked off this week in the first event of the new year. This years first stop is at Golden Hills Golf and Turf Club in Ocala, FL. Golden Hills features tree lined fairways and large greens that are elevated and undulated. Oppenheim runs the table, Parziale surges to third

Rob Oppenheim(-9) completed his wire to wire run at Forest Lakes golf club with a 2-under,69 as he held off Ted Potter(-8) who also carded a 69 today. This is Oppenheim’s second title of the Hooters Winter Tour. Matt Parziale (-7) shared low round of the day with an impressive 5-under, 66 surging him up to a third place finish. Day two is in the books at Forest Lake Golf Club and with the unusual small field of 64, just 21 players instead of the usual 40 lived to see another day. Scrolling through the players scorecards for the past couple of days, it appears to be business as usual with pars, birdies and bogeys. New England off to a great start at Forest Lakes

After a few weeks off, the Hooters Winter Tour resumed today at Forest Lakes GC in Ocoee, Florida. This weeks event has an unusual small field with just 64 players entered. Massachusetts has four golfers competing this week and all four are in the top 10 after today’s first round. Leading the pack is Rob Oppenhiem with his 6-under, 65 today. Potter goes wire to wire in the Winter series championship

When you make birdie or better in a third of the holes you play in a tournament, chances are you will be in the hunt for a win. That’s what Ted Potter(-17) and Russell Knox(-15) did this week as both of them made 16 birdies and 2 eagles in the 36 hole championship at Rio Pinar. Potter holds one shot lead at Rio Pinar CC

The second round of the Bridgestone Winter Series Championship is in the books and after the dust has settled, the 115 players is now down to 40 as the cut line was -1 today. Yesterdays leader Ted Potter(-10) remains on top after carding a 4-under, 68. Potter has made just one bogey this week which came on his 3rd hole (12th hole) since he started on the backside today.
