Fittingly on Halloween weekend the winner of the first qualifying round shoots 66 for the third day in a row. Steady play all week by Ted Potter of Silver Springs, Fl. gives himself the top spot at -20, four shots better than Edwuardo Herra and Anthony Broussard who were both at -16. On Thursday October 8th , a 77 year old man was attacked by a 10 foot, 400 pound alligator. The Sun News reported that the unidentified man was retrieving a golf ball at Fripp Islands Ocean Creek course when the reptile dragged him into the pond severing his arm from the elbow down. A heavy band of showers stopped play for 30 minutes and has now resumed. The BGA has announced if there is a rain out today, the cut will be as posted from yesterday, one note is that the field will be a card off from the 1st hole forward meaning that only two of the five 88′s in the field will advance. Second round play will resume at 7:30 AM on Friday morning. Players should be at the cart staging area at 7:20 AM and at their location on the golf course by 7:30 AM, ready to resume play.
